- 1981 - moved to Melbourne Australia, upgraded to Australian Podiatric requirements.
- 1981 - 1982 - Tutor at Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences later merging with La Trobe University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
- 1982 - 1984 - Senior Tutor at La Trobe University
- 1984 - 1986 - Chief Podiatrist at the Southern Memorial / Caulfield Hospital complex, Melbourne
- 1985 - 1987 - Orthotic Consultant to:- Artificial Limb & Appliance Centre, South Melbourne, Victoria, Aus
- 1987 - 1998 - In-house Podiatrist specialising in biomechanical and sports related injuries and orthotic therapy at the Inter Health Sports Medical Centre, Dingley, Victoria, Aus

Hobbies & interests
Motor Sport - John became interested in motor sport in the early 1970s, initially hill climbing a highly modified Ford Escort RS1600 progressing to circuit racing in a single seater Mallock. Later in a highly modified TVR Tuscan. In Australia John competed in historic racing in a 1959 MGA coming 3rd in the MGCC Driving Championships in 1987 and second in the same championship in 1992.
Currently a spectator only but has a TVR T350c as a fun car.
